Barbara Kate

Barbara Kate is a writer and producer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Currently majoring in film at Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA), Barbara focuses on developing stories that blend intimate character studies with cinematic expression. As a screenwriter, her work includes TASTY! (2023), Missing Scene (2024), and A Lady’s Beaded Bag (2024), an adaptation of a short piece by Tennessee Williams. She also contributed as a script doctor on The Figure (2024). As a producer, her credits include MATER (2025), The Culminating Point (2025), and the forthcoming ek • stasis, which she also wrote and directed. She is a co-founder of Medio Cuerpo Cine, a student-led independent film production company in Buenos Aires, which fosters a collaborative space for emerging filmmakers.
