James Dew Hall

James Dew Hall (last name pronounced doo-hawl, two words combined) (Born April 11th, 2005) is an African American filmmaker, editor, actor, and sound designer with a focus on directing narrative films. His creative background began in his upbringing in the mid-2000s through acting in personal YouTube skits and comedy sketches, which led to early interests in screenwriting, sound effects editing, and music production. He later expanded into multiple production roles while studying in the VCUarts Cinema program. James' directorial work blends genre experimentation with a playful yet thoughtful approach to stories centered on the human condition and the lived experiences of people across races, identities, and sexuality's. His films and performances aim to create both entertainment and meaningful conversation through storytelling. James is the founder of the multimedia company KID EYE, which is currently in development. KID EYE focuses on producing and supporting narrative and experimental films, music videos, photography, and other creative services.
