Jemma Moore

Jemma Moore is a neurodivergent, Hong Kong-born British writer, director and actor. She currently stars as Jess Li in the ITV thriller Red Eye, and appears in the award-winning horror film HOST (dir. Rob Savage, 2020), which won Fangoria's Golden Chainsaw Award for Best Streaming Premiere and earned multiple BIFA nominations. HOST is 'Certified Fresh' on Rotten Tomatoes, was named one of Variety's ten 'Best Found Footage Horror Movies of All Time' in 2022, and featured on Empire's 'Best Movies of 2020' list, with Jemma's character also making Empire's list of 'The 100 Best Horror Movie Characters'. She was long-listed for BAFTA Breakthrough UK in 2021, and in 2017 won the 'ABC Discovers UK Digital Talent competition' from a self-tape, leading to a year-long talent deal with ABC (Disney Entertainment). Jemma is also known for her roles in 'Silent Witness' (BBC, 2023); the BAFTA Scotland and Royal Television Society Scotland award-winning 'Two Doors Down' (BBC, 2022); 'Doom: Annihilation' (Universal, 2019); 'Shakespeare & Hathaway' (BBC, 2019); and 'Wonder Woman' (Warner Bros., 2018). Her voiceover work spans games and screen, she voiced the female protagonist in the martial arts action game 'Sifu', and went on to voice Caitlyn Kiramman in the tag-team fighting game '2XKO'. In 'Nioh 2', she voiced the character Mumyo, and on screen she gave voice to the ghost Annabel Ward in Netflix's 2023 series 'Lockwood & Co.' As a filmmaker, Jemma co-created the short film 'Stalling It' (2020), which screened at BAFTA- and BIFA-qualifying festivals, and produced the award-winning short 'All of Me' (2017), winner of 'Best Drama' at The London Independent Film Awards and winner of an 'Award of Excellence' at the IndieFEST Film Awards, and screened at the Academy Award-, BAFTA- and Goya-qualifying Palm Springs International ShortFest, as well as the Rhode Island International Film Festival, Marché du Film at Cannes, and Athens International Film Festival. She wrote for Brock Media's 'Eerie' (2023), which reached number one on the Apple Podcasts charts in Great Britain, and is an alum of MilkTea Films and the BBC's Laughing Matters Lab. Her debut feature, 'Get Sucked!', which she co-wrote and will direct, has recently secured pre-development funding from the BFI and MilkTea Films Great Migrations Lab. She is currently in pre-development on her next two shorts: 'Lucky You!', which she co-wrote and will direct, and 'Pen Friend', which she is writing and directing. She also served as script consultant on 'Chan's' (2025), a short film developed through Ffilm Cymru Wales' Beacons scheme, backed by the BFI and the National Lottery.
