Skyler Loyd

Skyler Loyd is a multi-talented composer, actor, and writer. He began his career studying acting both on stage and on screen, while also studying music from an extremely young age. Loyd gained hands-on experience in various productions, taking on diverse roles both in front of and behind the camera. His work has included acting, audio technician, 2nd Assistant Camera (2nd AC), and most notably, composing original soundtracks and scores, which has given him a comprehensive understanding of storytelling in both visual and auditory mediums. At the age of 15, Loyd released his first body of music, 5 AM, while landing his first job on a film set as the 2nd AC. This first job on set sparked a deep desire to work on films, both in front of and behind the camera. He later followed up with his debut album, Strange Boy. Loyd is most known for his third studio album, The Earth Opened Wide, released in August 2020. His music is best known for its experimental approach, fusing contemporary classical, ambient, and abstract layers. His ability to integrate his acting knowledge with his music gives him a unique edge in composing soundtracks that reflect a director's vision, while his personal releases push the boundaries of traditional soundscapes and styles.
