Dona

Between the crisis of street cinemas and the success of large shopping malls, we follow the story of Dona, a cleaning lady who spent her entire youth working at a major street cinema in the capital of Minas Gerais, Brazil. But with the theater facing imminent closure, she begins to fear for her own future and that of her coworkers. Almost three decades later, a more mature Dona works as a cleaner in a shopping mall cinema. In the end, she always wonders what it would be like to watch a movie in a theater for the very first time.
