This is a bit of an one-joke comedy, this - but the combined efforts of the actors just about keep it moving along without too many cringes. "Murdoch Troon" (Stanley Baxter) is involved in a collision with the wealthy "Chingford" (James Robertson Justice) that ultimately involves his introduction to the latter man's daughter "Claire" (Julie Christie).
