The Women by the Lake

The first installment in The Isolation Trilogy - each film taking place in an imaginary past, focusing on characters in extreme physical isolation. Inspired by Finnish artist Helene Schjerfbeck’s intimate portraits of women, on the banks of a lake, hidden below a mountain ridge, three women live secluded. One night, a young vagabond appears on their doorstep, bringing echoes of the outside world to their haven.
